Student / Intern work / Redmoon Theater
The images here represent my time with Redmoon Theater as the Buildshop Manager and Internship Program Director. They do no represent my sole creative practice; instead they illustrate the product experienced collaborating with an amazing creative team. The photography is from Sean Williams, creative direction from Frank Maugeri and Jim Lasko of Redmoon, the work is also the result of numerous build team members, interns and collaborating artists and in a many different ways I contributed to each of the spectacles presented.
The next group of images are the result of a program I worked on for Redmoon in the Summer of 2013. I was asked to design and lead a STEAM workshop for a group of sixteen high school students from around the Chicago area that focused on investigating the Chicago River and designing floating, remediating performance platforms for the Great Chicago Fire Festival slated to take place in the Fall of 2014. The workshop allowed students to investigate floatation and boat design through lab work, to investigate the river site and to test the water quality and chemistry of the river. Once students completed their initial research they were tasked with developing their scaled, floating platform prototypes taking into consideration the performative element, the remediation element and lastly to design with a responsible "cradle to grave" ethic that provided solutions for the end of life for the the performance platforms.
high school painting drawing
The images in this section are of a project where students were painting from three collected images. Each collection needed to have an object, a texture and a picture of the "whole". All works executed in oil paints.
Work with skyline design
Representations of some of the many custom art fabrication jobs I managed while working at Skyline Design as a project manager.
